Fort Fun 2026

I returned to Fort Fun Abenteuerland in Germany for the third time. Just as a reminder: it's an amusement park in the hills of the Sauerland region, themed in a Wild West style, where rides are mixed with entertainment and shows. And just like in previous years, the contract was arranged through Folco Team, so I once again met Patrik and Darix. It's not just "work somewhere abroad", it's more like meeting up with friends.

At the beginning, we all got together and met the new guys. BMX flatland rider Mikołaj Penar joined the team, originally from Poland but living in Ireland, along with parkour athlete Luis Venezia, half Italian and half British. We clicked right away, and even though we hadn't known each other before, we had a lot of fun the whole time. I was also pleasantly surprised that Nemanja from Serbia, who took care of the effects, was there again. I had no idea he'd be back, and when I saw him, it really made me happy. We became friends back in 2024.

The concept stayed the same as last year. We performed the show right in the park again, on a wooden platform, with people able to stand around it from almost all sides. Besides my trailer, I also had several logs and rocks to work with. The whole thing ran under the name Circus Mechanica – Wild Wheels, in a steampunk style. The show lasted about 15 to 20 minutes and was pure sports action. To keep the platform from getting slippery in the wet, it was coated with resin mixed with sand.

The contract lasted 51 days, from July 11 to August 30. We performed two to three times a day, depending on how many visitors were in the park and what the weather was like. We had two days off during the whole contract because it rained a lot. In total, we did 114 shows. The weather was friendly this year, mostly warm and without much rain.

It was demanding work, but I'm really glad we all made it through healthy, even though a few falls and collisions didn't go without a smile. I got most of mine on one particular day. During one show, I went over the handlebars. During another, I was standing on the trailer without holding the bike, with my calves in front of the footpegs, when a crate suddenly fell out of nowhere. The footpegs pushed into my calves, so I did a dive off the trailer and the bike followed me. It was really funny. :)

Just like in previous years, I also turned the stay into a small training camp on the bike. Besides the 114 shows, I rode 1,400 km on my gravel bike in my free time around the Sauerland.

Finally, I'd like to say a big thank you for the opportunity to be there. I really love going there. Thank you to Darix, Patrik, Nemanja, and also to the people from the park, Chris, who is in charge of the shows, and Andreas, who runs the park, and everyone else you meet there.

Below you can watch two short videos. However, they are not footage from the actual show.

Erfurter Weihnachtscircus

At the end of the year, I performed at the Erfurter Weihnachtscircus in Germany, a modern Christmas show full of various sports and extreme performances. It was physically and mentally demanding work, and I also went through a virus during that time, but in the end everything worked out – I managed the contract without injuries and with plenty of valuable experiences.

Fort Fun 2025

I experienced another summer full of performances at Germany’s Fort Fun Abenteuerland — this time for the second time, and once again in collaboration with the Italian team Folco. However, the original train-themed Western show was transformed into a new, action-packed steampunk show called Circus Mechanica, right in the middle of the park so more people could see it. We spent 51 days on site nonstop, doing up to three shows a day. It was hard work, but it was worth it.
